Welcome to Kongsi. By using our mobile application and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Kongsi, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Kongsi is an expense tracking and splitting application that allows you to:

• Scan and upload receipts for expense tracking
• Create groups to share expenses with others
• Split costs fairly among group members
• Track balances and settlements
• View spending analytics and insights

3. Account Registration

To use Kongsi, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete information
• Maintaining the security of your password
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

Free Tier: Basic features with limited AI scans and group size.

Plus and Pro Tiers: Paid subscriptions with additional features as described in the app.

Payment terms:

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected
• Payments are processed through Stripe (web) or app stores (iOS/Android)
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Refunds are subject to the policies of the respective payment platform

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (receipts, expense data). By uploading content, you grant us a license to:

• Process receipt images using AI for data extraction
• Store and display your expense data within the app
• Share relevant data with your group members as you direct

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent expense information
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

7. Expense Splitting Disclaimer

Important: Kongsi is a tool to help track and calculate expense splits. We do not:

• Transfer money between users
• Guarantee the accuracy of AI-extracted receipt data
• Enforce or guarantee payments between group members
• Mediate disputes between users

You are responsible for verifying expense details and settling payments outside the app.

8. Intellectual Property

The Kongsi name, logo, and all related intellectual property are owned by us. You may not use our trademarks without permission. The Service's code, design, and features are protected by copyright and other laws.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be revoked
• Your personal data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days
• Shared group data may be retained for other group members

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI receipt scanning will be 100% accurate
• Your data will never be lost (please keep your own records)

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to disputes between group members over expenses.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.
